Welcome to AntiHijacker

AntiHijacker finds potential URL hijacker links, which can be activated primarily by means of a so-called 302 Redirect or Meta Refresh.

What is URL hijacking?

URL hijacking is something happening more and more these days. Lately, it has been caused by a bug in mainstream search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The latter misinterpret specific links which are directed to your website. As a result, your entire website may no longer be listed in the Google, etc. index. The fatal result: no more visitors via search engines!

How can I protect myself from URL hijacking?

Until now there has been no 100% safe method to protect oneself from this occurrence. Only active links are potentially dangerous. The best way is to ask the website operator who placed a harmful link, to remove it as soon as possible.

How can the Anti-Hijacker Check help me?

Our tool detects potentially harmful links which are directed to your website. To accomplish this, an extensive analysis is required since active links do not appear on a Google search of all links directed to your website (entry at Google link:www.mydomain.com) and consequently you cannot identify them.

To detect all potentially harmful links, we analyze your logfile data. All accesses to your website are saved in your logfile. For the hijacking analysis we need a special specification (the so-called referer). This specification provides information about the link that provided access to your website.

The Anti-Hijacker now pulls up every referer site and examines whether or not active links to your website are set up. If active links are found, their level of danger is assessed. This way you can obtain a comprehensive overview of the risks to your website from URL hijacking. At the end of the analysis, you will be offered a downloadable text file which lists the harmful links. If there are harmful links to your website, you should then contact the appropriate website operator.
